Just a Glimpse of Me

HEYY!
I am so excited that you are planning on coming to Carson-Newman! One of my favorite things about being in college is getting to meet the new students every year and semester.
I absolutely love everything about Carson-Newman, so I hope you will, too.

Now, so you can get to know me:
My name is Analyn Borthick. I will be a senior, planning on graduating May 2014. I have been at CN all four years and loved every bit. I am from Springfield, TN, a small, rural town about 45 minutes north of Nashville. I ended up at Carson-Newman because my brother came here and graduated in 2009. I am a Child and Family Studies Major, and let me just tell you…it definitely is not easy like everyone says. I may not know what I want to do with my life yet, but I know something in that area and I'm just rolling with the punches.

While at CN:
I am involved in Eagle Production Company, we are in charge of Homecoming, Spring Formal, Movies-on-the-Lawn, Concerts, and MANY MORE! As a junior I was PR Chair and next year I will be VP of the organization.
Last year, I was an RA for one of the dorms. I LOVED IT! I decided not to do it this next year though, so I could be an O-Leader instead! I couldn't do both of schedule conflicts during the first weeks of school.
I have also been on the Homecoming court both my sophomore and junior years. Not gonna lie…I kinda do want to be on it again this fall, to be able to say that! Ha. But we'll see how it goes.
I'll finish off with one of my most favorite memories from last year. We had one of our football games air on tv, so I got together a group of lots of my friends, and we painted up for the game! It was so fun! I don't mean just paint our faces we went all out! We had our bodies painted orange with navy blue shorts and we spelled out "#talonsup," which you'll understand when you get here! We ended up being on tv quite a few times and even the professors liked it! I hope to do it again this year!

So that's just a glimpse of my college life. Hope you enjoy the blogs and have a great summer before your college career starts!

I'm out!
